About me

My name is Maryam and I am a fully qualified Hypnobirthing instructor and have been teaching for over six years in both London and Norwich.

I trained to teach Hypnobirthing with KG Hypnobirthing which has been perfected and adapted by Katharine Graves.  Katharine’s outstanding knowledge and skills have resulted in KG Hypnobirthing being accepted as the premier UK course for professionals and parents alike and is accredited by the Royal College of Nursing and Midwives.

I am a mother of two boys; 12 and 8 and Live in Norwich, Norfolk. After using Hypnobirthing techniques for both my births, I realised that a calm and confident birth was possible for anyone. I wanted to share my experience with as many parents as possible.
I am passionate about changing the way we view birth.

I don’t want women to have to go through birth, experiencing fear and negativity, especially when the alternative can be so life-changing and empowering.

I first heard about Hypnobirthing from two dads who were very enthusiastic.

I immediately started researching Hypnobirthing and went home and told my husband about it. I couldn’t wait to learn more about this amazing technique which would enable me to stay calm and birth our baby without fear. My husband was less convinced but said he would come along and support me. We signed up to a local class and we learnt how the body responds to stress and anxiety in labour and found out about the physiology of birth. This  was a real ‘wow’ moment for both of us. Using the hypnotherapy scripts, I was able to train myself to trust my body and my baby and believe that a calm and relaxed birth was possible. I was even looking forward to giving birth and couldn’t wait to put all our hard work into practice. I managed to steer away from negative stories and created a bubble around myself so we could prepare for the births our way.

I went from ‘give me all the drugs’ to a natural birth within the space of a few weeks.

After having my first son we used Hypnobirthing for our second son, too. Both times, I was proud of myself, my husband, my body and my babies for getting through birth confidently and calmly whilst being in control of our birth experience. Every birth is different and with both of mine we faced challenges that, had I not been prepared and relaxed, might have taken a different path. Hypnobirthing taught us how to stay calm, how to let my body and my baby birth easily and how to ask questions and work with midwives and obstetricians to get the best outcome for us.

Now I want to make this happen for you!
